A convicted child molester is still on the loose after he skipped his sentencing in San Luis Obispo over 20 years ago, and the FBI is asking for help finding him.

Between 1997 and 2000, Erik Kristian Moller — now 58, then 35 — babysat the same girl nearly every week from the time she was 10 to 14 years old, the FBI posted on Facebook. He molested her throughout that time, giving her drugs and/or alcohol prior to the molestations.

On Dec. 18, 2002, he was convicted of two counts of lewd act upon a child and was released on bail until sentencing, according to the FBI’s post.

Then, on March 18, 2003, Moller failed to appear for his sentencing hearing in SLO, the FBI said in the post. He was sentenced in absentia to 10 years in state prison, and a felony bench warrant was issued for him the next day. He was also charged with failure to appear.

On April 24, 2003, Moller was charged by the federal central district court of California with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution and a federal warrant was issued for his arrest, the post said.
