Man arrested with concealed sword in SLO — ’We’re pretty sure this isn’t Excalibur’

A man carrying a concealed sword under his clothing was arrested in San Luis Obispo early Friday morning, according to police.

Austin Hale, 31, was reported around midnight for possibly concealing a firearm at the Royal Oak Best Western hotel on Madonna Road, according to a social media post from the San Luis Obispo Police Department.

When officers arrived, they found Hale with a sword concealed under his clothing.

“We’re pretty sure this isn’t Excalibur,” the department said in the post.

Hale also possessed a knife and a controlled substance, according to police.

Hale was arrested for the concealed weapon, possession of a controlled substance with two prior convictions and committing a felony while on bail.
