San Luis Obispo man was arrested on suspicion of rape and possession of child pornography, the San Luis Obispo Police Department announced in a news release Friday.

According to the release, David Randall Quintero was reported to the Police Department for alleged rape in October.

At the time, the department was also investigating Quintero for suspected possession of child pornography.

Officers arrested Quintero on Nov. 21. During a search of Quintero’s property, police found over 1,500 images of child sexual abuse, the release said.

The San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office has since charged Quintero with two felonies — one count of rape of an unconscious person and one count of possession of child sexual abuse material, the release said.

Quintero was booked into the SLO County Jail with bail set at $400,000, the release said. He remained in custody as of Friday, according to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office’s Who’s in Custody website.
