The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office arrested a food delivery driver who allegedly assaulted a customer in Nipomo this week.

Robert Earl Becker, 54, allegedly assaulted a woman while delivering an order to her home in Nipomo on Tuesday at about 1:30 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office said.

Becker worked for an app-based food delivery service.

The woman reported the alleged assault to law enforcement, but Becker had already left the scene before officers arrived at her home, the release said.

Officers found and arrested Becker in Nipomo on Wednesday, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Becker was arrested on suspicion of charges of intent to commit rape and failure to register as a sex offender. He was booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail on Wednesday at 11:47 a.m. without bail, according to the Sheriff’s booking log.
