Man injured in SLO hit-and-run crash sent to hospital in critical condition

A 65-year old man injured late Saturday night in a hit-and-run crash at a busy San Luis Obispo intersection was sent to the hospital in critical condition, according to the San Luis Obispo Police Department.

When San Luis Obispo police officers and firefighters arrived around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, they found “an adult male in the roadway with obvious injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle,” police said in a news release Sunday.

“Concerned citizens were on scene blocking the roadway” at the corner of Santa Rosa and Higuera streets, police said.

Police didn’t find the suspect or their vehicle, the release said.

The injured man was transported to a local hospital for emergency care. police said.

The San Luis Obispo Police Department is asking anyone with information about the crash to call the agency at 805-781-7312 and reference case No. 230819085.
