Paso Robles police looking for man who robbed CVS cashier at knifepoint

The Paso Robles Police Department is searching for a man who robbed a local drugstore with a knife on Tuesday night, according to a news release.

At about 9:45 p.m., a man wearing a black ski mask and black clothing entered the CVS store on 187 Niblick Road, police said in the release.

The suspect brandished a knife at the cashier and demanded money, according to the release.

After obtaining a “small amount of money” from the cash register, the man “fled to the rear of the business,” police said.

Officers arrived at CVS within a minute of receiving the 911 call, the release said. Police reportedly heard that the suspect might still be inside of the store, so they escorted customers and employees outside.

Paso Robles police and the San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Office’s K-9 unit searched the store but did not find the suspect, the release said.

According to the release, police later discovered that the suspect escaped out a back door before officers arrived.
