Atascadero police locate, arrest bank robbery suspects thanks to tips from public

The Atascadero Police Department has arrested two Paso Robles residents for allegedly robbing a Golden 1 Credit Union in May.

The robbery occurred May 28 at 4:03 p.m. in the 8700 block of El Camino Real, according to a news release.

Officers at the scene learned a white male adult had entered the bank and produced a note demanding money and saying he had a gun. He then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. He was spotted getting into the back of a car.

Authorities later obtained surveillance footage of the suspect at a local business, and shared the images to the Police Department’s Facebook page on June 17.

Within an hour, the department received calls from numerous individuals who recognized the suspect, according to the release.

The new leads led to the arrest of Kalvyn Voshal, 27, of Paso Robles, and Adreanna Rostro, 23, of Paso Robles. The two were arrested on felony charges of bank robbery, burglary and criminal conspiracy. They were both booked into County Jail.

Bail for Voshal is set at $120,000; as of Wednesday he was still in custody. Rostro was no longer in custody, according to the SLO County Sheriff’s Office website.
