Police, FBI investigating Atascadero bank robbery

Police are searching for a man who allegedly robbed an Atascadero bank Thursday afternoon.

According to a news release, officers responded to Golden 1 Bank on El Camino Real around 4:03 p.m. for a robbery that had just occurred.

Witnesses at the scene told officers a white male adult had entered the bank and produced a note demanding money and saying he had a gun, according to the release.

The man left with an undisclosed amount of money and fled the area in a black, four-door sedan, police say.

The Atascadero Police Department’s investigations and crime scene units are investigating the robbery with the help of the Federal Bureau of Investigations, according to the release.

Anyone with information regarding the robbery is asked to contact the Atascadero Police Department.
