Truck trying to avoid head-on crash hits another truck at Paso Robles gas pump, police say

Two trucks and a gas pump were damaged in a two-vehicle crash Saturday at a One Stop Store gas station on Spring Street in Paso Robles.

According to a Paso Robles Police Department Facebook post, no one was injured in the crash.

Police said the driver of a red truck was filling up when a black truck crashed into the vehicle. The black truck attempted to use the left turn lane to pass another vehicle ended up swerving into the gas station to avoid a head-on collision.

The driver of the black truck was driving northbound on Spring Street and tried to use the two-way left turn lane to pass a vehicle, but the vehicle sped up. The driver of the truck then saw the two-way left turn lane was occupied, police said.

The black truck swerved into oncoming traffic and tried to turn left on Seventh Street, police said. However, the speed of the truck caused it to swing toward the gas station.

The black truck slammed into the red truck and damaged a gas pump, according to police.

Police said drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the crash.
