SLO police arrest man suspected of sexually assaulting girlfriend’s teen daughter

A San Luis Obispo man was arrested after being suspected of committing sexual assault against a minor, according to the San Luis Obispo Police Department.

At approximately 6:36 p.m. on April 2, officers responded to a report of possible sex assault of a 15-year-old victim, police said.

The teenage girl reportedly told police that her mother’s boyfriend, 55-year-old Martin Gonzalez-Flores, sexually assaulted her, according to a news release.

Gonzales-Flores was arrested April 2 on suspicion of a lewd act upon a child, forced oral copulation of a minor, sexual intercourse with a minor, forced penetration with a foreign object and criminal threats, police said.

His bail was originally set at $100,000, the news release said. But after police conducted a followup investigation and the victim disclosed additional crimes on April 4, his bail increased to $1 million, the release said.

Gonzalez-Flores was being held at San Luis Obispo Jail as of Wednesday morning, jail records showed.

No additional information is being provided at this time due to the sensitivity of the case, according to the release.
