Pismo police search for suspect after armed robbery at the Outlets

Police canvassed the city Thursday in search of a suspect in an armed robbery at a store in the Pismo Beach Outlets.

Pismo Beach police Sgt. Chris Trimble said that at about 1:22 p.m., a man walked into the Vitamin World in the shopping center at 333 Five Cities Drive, brandished a handgun, and demanded cash.

After taking an undisclosed amount, the suspect fled the store on foot in an unknown direction, Trimble said.

No one was hurt in the incident.

Trimble said the suspect is described as a clean-shaven Hispanic man in his 20s or 30s, standing approximately 5 foot 9 inches tall with an “athletic build.” The man was last seen wearing tan pants, a black long-sleeve shirt, and a black beanie.

Trimble said Thursday afternoon that investigators were reviewing security footage in order to release an image of the suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Pismo Beach Police Department at 773-4661, or leave an anonymous tip at Crime Stoppers at 549-STOP or through their website at https://bit.ly/2rUcEZy.
