A 29-year-old Santa Maria man who police had been trying to locate for nearly a week was arrested Thursday on suspicion of violating the terms of his parole, according to a release from the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office.
About 8:30 a.m. Thursday, sheriff’s deputies found Daniel Vasquez in the 200 block of South Pacific Street in Orcutt. He was in possession of heroin and loaded syringes when deputies contacted him in the passenger seat of a vehicle, the release said.
When sheriff’s deputies searched the vehicle, they discovered methamphetamine hidden under the driver’s floor mat and a .22 caliber handgun.
The driver was Uriel Angulorochin, 34, of El Monte. Angulorochin was arrested on suspicion of narcotic and weapons-related charges, the release said.

Two people who were not identified in the news release also were arrested during the investigation for outstanding warrants and on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance.
Vasquez and Angulorochin were booked into Santa Barbara County Jail. Vasquez is being held without bail, and Angulorochin is being held on $35,000 bail, the release said.
