A San Luis Obispo man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of stealing thousands of dollars’ worth of electronics from a downtown business, police said.
The burglary happened over the weekend at a business called Polymax LLC in the 800 block of Higuera Street, police said. Authorities were able to identify the suspect from surveillance video and asked for the public’s help in finding the man.
Several people, including two downtown police officers on bikes, identified the suspect from the pictures. An officer stopped the man at about 11 a.m. and arrested him on suspicion of burglarizing the business, police said.
The man, 37-year-old Freddie Sarenana, admitted to stealing from the business, police said, but did not have the stolen property on him. However, police found that he had a hypodermic needle and a methamphetamine pipe.
