2 Arroyo Grande men arrested for theft, credit card fraud, police say

Two Arroyo Grande men were arrested Tuesday on suspicion of stealing more than $1,200 in property from a vehicle and using a stolen credit card, the San Luis Obispo Police Department said.

Kyle Brown, 22, and Nathan Morgan, 28, stole jewelry, makeup, luggage, purses, sunglasses and the credit card from an unlocked vehicle on Sunday on the 200 block of California Street in San Luis Obispo, according to a news release from the Police Department. Police had asked for help identifying two men seen on security cameras using the stolen credit card. Several people, including a Pismo Beach police officer, identified them.

About 4 p.m. Tuesday, Arroyo Grande police stopped the two men in a vehicle near Oak Park Boulevard and West Branch Street. Two San Luis Obispo officers also responded, and both suspects were arrested.

Both were arrested on suspicion of possessing burglary tools, possessing stolen property and fraudulent use of a credit card.

Brown was booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on $4,000 bail.

Morgan was also arrested on suspicion of possessing paraphernalia and possessing heroin, and booked on $12,000 bail. Neither man was in custody as of Wednesday morning, according to jail records.
