Both Cambria Little League teams lost in lopsided games last week. The Intermediate Reds were shut down by the Los Osos A’s 10-2, and the AAA Giants lost to the Los Osos Athletics 17-7.

The Reds’ pitchers — Zack Stephenson, Nate Markham, and Anhase Martin — held the Athletics for a few innings, but “a couple errors and a difficult time putting the bat on the ball at the plate took away any chance of getting a win,” Reds coach Gary Stephenson said.

The next game for the Reds is Tuesday, May 31, in Morro Bay, a playoff game against the Morro Bay Brewers.

Meanwhile, the highlight for the Cambria Giants was a three-run triple in the fifth inning from Diego Fernandez.

The Giants’ had a playoff game against the Los Osos Dodgers on Wednesday, May 25, too late to get into this week’s newspaper.
