Broncos edged in Santa Maria basketball tourney opener

The year-end holiday tournaments offer a chance for Coast Union’s basketball team to get experience against good competition before Coast Valley League play opens.

On Monday, Dec. 28, the Broncos lost a heartbreaker 44-43 to the host team at the Santa Maria Invitational Tournament.

Roberto Cueva led Coast Union with 14 points, and Jez Lawson chipped in with 10 points.

Following are remaining home schedules for Coast Union’s winter sports teams.

Boys basketball

Girls basketball
