Coast Union girls basketball team heads into league play
The Lady Broncos basketball team has just one more preseason game to play before launching into the Coast Valley League on Dec. 15. Coast plays an away game Dec. 10 at Woodlake prior to opening up the CVL season against Shandon at home.
Meanwhile, after losing their first two games (to Orcutt Academy, 30-14, and King City, 44-33), head coach Bobby Youngs said his players “never gave up,” although they were down by 17 at one point against King City.
The players “are starting to get the offense better and a feel for the game,” he said, adding that once the team is in the CVL, “we will have a good chance to win it.”
Asked what his team needs to work on the most, Youngs replied, “The team as a whole needs to take more shots and make better passes.”
The next home game for the Lady Broncos is Dec. 15 against Shandon, a 5 p.m. contest.
