Coast Union splits 8 games in Pink Stampede volleyball tourney
For the 12th straight year, Pam Kenyon’s varsity volleyball team sponsored the Pink Stampede tournament at Coast Union, on Saturday, Sept. 16. In tournament play, volleyball contests consist of just one game.
The Lady Broncos defeated Coastal Christian (25-13), Providence (25-13) and SLO Classical Academy (25-10), but lost to Reedley (25-12) and Fresno Christian (25-13).
Coast Union also lost to St. Joseph (25-15), but came back to beat Fresno Christian in the playoffs (25-22) before losing to Reedley (25-12). St. Joseph’s defeated Reedley to claim the tournament championship.
The next home match for the volleyball team is Thursday, Sept. 21, against Shandon, a 5 p.m. start time.
