Music scholarship students perform
The Cambria Youth Music Fund scholarship students will be showing the benefits of their music education made possible by the sponsorship of the Cambria Chorale and the support of the Cambria Lions Club.
The Musical Recital will be held on Sunday, April 28, at 2 p.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church, 2250 Yorkshire Drive. A reception will follow the performance. The $5 tickets are on sale at the Chamber of Commerce, the Joslyn Center and at the door. Students 18 and under are admitted free.
The recital showcases the musical achievements of these students:
Voice: Callie Cashden (16); Katrina Cleave (15); Karina Ochoa (15); Lindy Ortiz (13); Madison Scott (16); Tiffany Stephens (16); Cesar Viveros (16). Piano: Nic Barth (14); Anna Harrington (13); Saul Fernandez (13); Andy Garcia (8); Ethan Hoffman (9); Carlos Plummer (12); Heartlinne Warnell (17); William Warnell (16). Violin: Kyle Plummer (16). Drums: Lalo Garcia (14). Guitar: Sage Friedman (12); Adrian Gonzales (15); Arturo Gonzalez (15); Alexis Mireles (13); Roberto Quintero (14).
A highlight of the recital will be the presentation of the 2013 Jim Fitzgerald Award for Outstanding Achievement in Music to one of the students. Jim Fitzgerald was a much-loved member of this community, as the choir director at Cambria Presbyterian Church for 10 years and the Cambria Chorale for six years.
