Man rescued after falling from cliff at Montaña de Oro

Multiple agencies responded to a rescue at Montaña de Oro State Park after a person reportedly fell off a cliff and sustained leg and head injuries.

The call for rescue was reported near Grotto Rock off the bluffs trail at Montaña De Oro around 1:09 p.m., according to emergency response app PulsePoint.

A 23-year-old male reportedly fell off a cliff, receiving a leg injury and a head laceration, according to emergency radio traffic.

Multiple crews were responding to the incident, including a rescue helicopter and State Parks officials, according to emergency radio traffic.

As of around 1:50 p.m., the California Highway Patrol’s H-70 helicopter was in the process of hoisting the patient up from the fall location, emergency radio traffic indicated.

By 1:59 p.m., the patient had been successfully hoisted and transferred to an ambulance.
