Ramps are closing overnight on 2 SLO County highways. See when and where

Drivers on two highways in San Luis Obispo County will soon encounter overnight ramp closures at multiple locations.

On-ramps and off-ramps will close at nearly a dozen spots so construction crews can remove existing striping and replace markings, according to the California Department of Transportation.

See what highway entrances and exits will be closed — and when:

Which Highway 1 exits will close for construction?

According to Caltrans, the following northbound and southbound off-ramps along Highway off-ramps will close due to roadwork:

  • South Bay Boulevard
  • Morro Bay Boulevard
  • Main Street
  • San Jacinto Street
  • Yerba Buena Street
  • Old Creek Road/Studio Drive Intersection
  • 13th Street

Which Highway 101 ramps are closing for roadwork?

On Highway 101, the northbound off-ramp onto Prado Road will be closed to traffic, Caltrans said in a July 9 news release.

In addition, the northbound Highway 101 off-ramp and southbound on- and off-ramps will close at Madonna Road.

When is construction starting?

Caltrans said the “full overnight closures” will start on Monday, July 13, with on-ramps and off-ramps off limits from 7:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. nightly.

How long will road closures last?

Caltrans said the roadwork should be completed by Aug. 7.

“Travelers are advised to take alternate on and off-ramps during the closures,” the state roads agency said. “Message and directional signs will alert travelers in advance of the ramp closures.”
