Smoking air conditioner prompts fire response at SLO County hospital

Fire crews responded to a reported fire at Adventist Health Twin Cities hospital in Templeton on Thursday afternoon.

The fire was reported around 1:54 p.m., according to the emergency response app PulsePoint, at 1100 Las Tablas Road in Templeton.

When firefighting crews arrived, they found a smoking air conditioning unit on the roof of the building and investigated to see if the fire had spread, according to emergency radio traffic.

By 2:13 p.m., they had located the source as a burned up motor in the unit, and reported via radio traffic that the fire was extinguished.
