A motorcyclist suffered major injuries after crashing into a fence in northern San Luis Obispo County on Wednesday afternoon.

At around 4:23 p.m., the California Highway Patrol received a report of a motorcyclist who had a hit a fence after hitting a patch of gravel in the roadway, causing them to lose control of their motorcycle, according to the CHP’s Traffic Incident Information Page.

The crash occurred in the 6000 block of Hog Canyon Road, which is northeast of San Miguel, not far from the site of a vegetation fire that burned three acres earlier in the day.

The motorcyclist suffered major injuries in the crash, and an ambulance was called to the scene at 4:48 p.m, according to the CHP page.

A tow truck was also requested for the motorcycle, a Harley-Davidson touring bike, according to the CHP page.
