A hit-and-run crash stalled traffic in San Luis Obispo County and led officers on a short chase Friday afternoon, while a second crash further slowed down traffic.

Both crashes occurred on northbound Highway 101 near Del Rio Road in Atascadero, according to the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information Page.

The first crash involved three vehicles, and one driver fled the scene, CHP Officer Joel Newby told The Tribune. Officers chased the suspect down had the vehicle stopped as of 2:40 p.m.

Meanwhile, back at the scene, another two-vehicle crash occurred a short distance away from the first crash at around 2:28 pm.

Neither crash resulted in injuries, Newby said.

Traffic was moving slow through the area as of 2:45 p.m., a Caltrans traffic camera showed.
