1 injured in crash on Highway 101 through SLO

A vehicle crash caused a minor injury and backed up traffic on Highway 101 through San Luis Obispo on Thursday afternoon.

A white Toyota RAV4 and a white Dodge Ram van collided in the northbound lane of Highway 101 near the Monterey Street off-ramp at about 5:10 p.m., the California Highway Patrol traffic log said.

An occupant of the van suffered a bruise on their leg and requested an ambulance, the CHP said.

After the crash, the Toyota was stuck in the center divider and the van blocked the fast lane.

By 5:25 p.m., the vehicles were cleared out of the roadway and both lanes were open.

Traffic slowed to a crawl in the northbound lane near Monterey Street as emergency responders attended to the crash, the Caltrans traffic camera showed.

Then, at 5:46 p.m., two KIA SUVs crashed in the northbound lane of Highway 101 near the Monterey Street off-ramp, the CHP said.

That crash caused minor damage to the vehicles and did not result in injuries, the CHP said.
