2 people injured in early morning Highway 46 crash in SLO County

Two people suffered major injuries in a vehicle crash on Highway 46 in Paso Robles early Thursday morning.

Three vehicles collided at the intersection of eastbound Highway 46 and Union Road at about 5:21 a.m., the Paso Robles Police Department said.

Emergency responders extricated two people from one of the vehicles. Those patients were then transported to a nearby hospital with major injures, police said.

None of the occupants of the other vehicles went to the hospital from the scene of the crash, Paso Robles Police Department Sgt. Joe Leonard told The Tribune.

The vehicles temporarily blocked the eastbound and westbound lanes of Highway 46, police said.

All lanes of Highway 46 had reopened by 8:19 a.m., the CHP posted on X.

The Paso Robles Police Department is investigating the crash.

Those with information about the crash can call the Paso Robles Police Department at 805-237-6464. Make an anonymous call to the Crime Stoppers 24-hour hotline at 805-549-STOP or by texting “SLOTIPS” with a message to CRIMES (274637).
