The Wendy’s in Atascadero has closed for good.

The fast-food burger joint, located in the Smart and Final shopping center at 8600 Curbaril Ave., closed permanently after its last day in operation on Tuesday, a Wendy’s corporate spokesperson told The Tribune.

It was one of three locations in the county. The remaining two are on Niblick Road in Paso Robles and Frontage Road in Nipomo. The third-closest location is on Preisker Lane in Santa Maria.

It’s actually the second time Wendy’s has closed in that spot. It previously closed in the early 200s before renovating the space and reopening in 2017.

The restaurant closed as part of a company-wide push to increase profitability by reallocating resources, according to the spokesperson.
