2 injured in multi-vehicle crash on Highway 1 in SLO County

Two people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 1 in southern San Luis Obispo County on Wednesday afternoon.

At about 3:44 p.m., the California Highway Patrol received reports of the crash on Highway 1 near Sheridan Road in the unincorporated community of Callender, according to the CHP traffic log.

The crash involved vehicles on both sides of Highway 1 along with one on Sheridan Road, according to the CHP page.

All occupants were out of their vehicles shortly after the crash, though an additional caller reported one driver lying on the ground next to his vehicle, according to the CHP page.

Ambulances were dispatched to the scene of the crash at 3:48 p.m., locating two vehicles on the roadsides and two patients with moderate injuries, according to emergency radio broadcasts via the PulsePoint app.

One patient was transported to Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria, according to CHP.

Traffic was slowed in both directions as of 4:15 p.m.
