Grammy-nominated country singer coming to Vina Robles in SLO County
A Grammy-nominated country singer announced an upcoming show at Vina Robles Amphitheatre this summer, and he’s donating some of the concert proceeds to criminal justice reform for cannabis offenders.
Charley Crockett will perform at the popular Paso Robes concert venue on July 18 with special guest Twin Temple as a part of his national “Age of the Ram” album tour, according to a Vina Robles news release.
The singer from San Benito, Texas, takes inspiration from the greats that came before him, like Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings, the news release said. His album incorporates stories and themes of his own life, career and criminal history.
Himself a twice-convicted felon for cannabis possession and distribution, Crockett was recently forced to cancel his Canadian tour after being denied entry into the country.
Now, he hopes to help others advocate for “policies that repair the harms of cannabis prohibition,” the news release said.
For many of the shows on his tour, Crockett will contribute one dollar from every ticket sold to the Last Prisoner Project, a criminal justice nonprofit that works to free individuals incarcerated for cannabis-related offenses.
How to buy tickets
Tickets for Crockett’s concert will be available starting with an artist presale on Wednesday at 10 a.m.
General ticket sales begin Friday at 10 a.m. on Ticketmaster.
Tickets range in price from $67.20 to $91.05, Nederlander Concerts spokesperson Jamie Loeb told The Tribune.
