Hwy. 41 roadwork to slow traffic in SLO County. Here’s when and where

Drivers could face traffic delays on a major highway in northern San Luis Obispo County.

That’s because crews are working to clean up damage from several strong winter storms, according to the California Department of Transportation.

Caltrans plans to remove a large tree that was knocked down during the recent rains.

Crews will be processing the tree resting next to the highway’s shoulder area, Caltrans said in a Monday, March 2, news release.

Here’s what to know:

When and where is Highway 41 roadwork in SLO County?

Travelers driving in both directions on Highway 41 west of Atascadero will encounter one-way reversing traffic control from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, the release said.

Crews will be conducting traffic control on two miles of the highway between Cerro Alto Campground and Toro Creek Road, according to the release.

Caltrans said messages and directional signs will be set up to alert drivers ahead of the daytime traffic control.

“Please allow extra time for your commute through the area,” the state road agency said.
