Update: More than 1,800 without power in SLO County as outage grows

Update, 1:45 p.m.:

More than 1,800 PG&E customers were without power as of 1:09 p.m. Monday.

The outage was affecting more than 600 people in Arroyo Grande and 1,200 customers in unincorporated southern San Luis Obispo County, according to PG&E’s outage report map.

As of 1:42 p.m, crews were conducting inspections and repairs to work on restoring electricity to the area.

PG&E said it expected to have power back on for most residents by 3:45 p.m.

A power outage cut off electricity to more than 500 PG&E customers in southern San Luis Obispo County on Monday morning.

According to PG&E’s outage report map, customers in unincorporated SLO County, extending east from Carpenter Canyon Road to parts of the Santa Lucia Wilderness, lost electricity around 8:07 a.m.

PG&E said a team was evaluating the unplanned electrical outage and was working “to identify damaged sections and make necessary repairs in order to safely turn the power back on.”

Power was expected to be restored by 11 a.m., according to PG&E’s site.
