Man rescued from cliff at Pirate's Cove after falling from trail

A man was rescued from a cliff face near Pirate’s Cove on Wednesday after he fell from a hiking trail.

According to emergency services app Pulsepoint, Cal Fire first received reports of a man who was stranded around 40 feet up from the beach and 20 feet below the trail in need of rescue near Pirate’s Cove at around 1 p.m.

Multiple rescue units, including a helicopter and a vessel from the Port San Luis Harbor Patrol, were dispatched to the scene of the rescue, arriving at 1:07 p.m.

After searching for a place to access the cliffside, emergency responders made contact with the fallen man around 1:40 p.m., according to Pulsepoint.

The individual was safely retrieved from the cliff as of 1:45 p.m., according to Pulsepoint.
