4-car crash stalls traffic on Highway 101 through SLO County
A multi-car pileup occurred on southbound Highway 101 through Nipomo on Monday afternoon.
The crash was reported around 3:57 p.m. near the southbound Tefft Street off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information Page.
At least four vehicles were involved in the crash, with one crashing through the fence onto the frontage road, according to Cal Fire spokesperson Ryan Grebe.
Seven patients were evaluated on scene — four of whom were set to be transported to the hospital, Grebe said.
Southbound traffic appeared to be slow as a result of the crash as of 4:30 p.m., according to the Caltrans QuickMap. The No. 1 lane of the highway had been blocked, according to the map.
Traffic was backed up to at least Los Berros Road, the CHP page said. Northbound traffic also appeared to be slow, according to Caltrans traffic cameras.
