Holocaust survivor to share story at Cal Poly SLO. How to attend
A Holocaust survivor is coming to Cal Poly to share her firsthand testimony of surviving Auschwitz.
Sora Vigorito, the youngest known survivor of the experimental twin program at Auschwitz, will visit the university on Wednesday, a news release from Chabad of San Luis Obispo said.
Vigorito was one member of 89 pairs of identical twins experimented on by Dr. Josef Mengele, a Performing Arts Center events page said.
On Wednesday, Vigorito is set to share her account of the torture she experienced and her subsequent path of survival.
“In this deeply moving presentation, she will share her firsthand testimony of survival, resilience and faith, offering audiences a living connection to history at a time when firsthand witnesses are increasingly rare,” the release said.
The event is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the PAC and will run for approximately 2 hours, the events page said.
It is open to the community and is free to ticketed Cal Poly students.
For non-students, tickets are priced up to $25 and can be reserved at the Cal Poly PAC website.
