Here’s a list of what is open and closed in San Luis Obispo County on Wednesday, Dec. 31, and Thursday, Jan. 1 — New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day — from grocery stores and pharmacies to banks.

The Tribune vetted this list by calling store locations and checking websites.

Holiday hours can differ by location, so be sure to check with your local store before heading out.

How late are SLO County grocery stores open on New Year’s Eve?

Here’s when local supermarkets will be open Wednesday for New Year’s Eve, as well as which stores will close on Thursday for New Year’s Day:

• Albertsons: Open 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. New Year’s Eve; open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. New Year’s Day.
• ALDI: Open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. New Year’s Eve; closed New Year’s Day.
• Costco: Open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. New Year’s Eve; closed New Year’s Day.
• Food 4 Less: Open 5 a.m. to midnight New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
• Grocery Outlet: Open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. New Year’s Eve; open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. New Year’s Day.
• Ralphs: Open 6 a.m. to 1 a.m. New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
• Smart & Final: Open 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. New Year’s Eve; open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. New Year’s Day.
• Sprouts: Open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. New Year’s Eve; open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. New Year’s Day.
• Target: Open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. New Year’s Eve; open 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on New Year’s Day.
• Trader Joe’s: Open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. New Year’s Eve; closed New Year’s Day.

When are local pharmacies open for New Year’s Day?

Here are open hours for pharmacies in SLO County on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, as well as which pharmacies will be closed:

• CVS: Store open 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. New Year’s Eve, pharmacy open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Store open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. New Year’s Day; pharmacy open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Walgreens: Store open 24 hours New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day; pharmacy open 2 a.m. to 1:30 a.m.
• Walmart: Store open 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. New Year’s Eve; pharmacy open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Store open 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. New Year’s Day; pharmacy open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• Vons: Store open 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. New Year’s Eve; pharmacy open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Store open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. New Year’s Day; pharmacy closed.

What about banks? Post offices?

The U.S. Postal Service will be open during regular hours on Wednesday, New Year’s Eve.

All San Luis Obispo County public libraries will close at 5 p.m. New Year’s Eve.

Government offices including post offices, public libraries and the California Department of Motor Vehicles will be closed on Thursday for New Year’s Day, as well as most banks.

Package delivery services FedEx and UPS will also be closed on New Year’s Day.
