SLO Restaurant Month is back this January. Here’s where to get dining deals

Looking for dining deals in San Luis Obispo?

Local restaurant-goers are in luck because the city is bringing back SLO Restaurant Month for the second year in a row.

For the entire month of January, more than 50 local restaurants, breweries, wineries and cafes are offering deals ranging from discounted items to cheap happy hours and prix-fixe menus.

Diners can get a free wine tasting at El Lugar Wines, a $35 three-course menu at Feral Kitchen + Lounge, a three-course menu at Luna Red for $45, or a $45 breakfast for two at Louisa’s Place, among dozens of other deals.

“We’re so excited to bring SLO Restaurant Month back to the community this year,” SLO city manager Whitney McDonald said in a news release. “January can be a slower month for restaurants, so taking advantage of the dining specials all month long is a great way to support your favorite local restaurant and try something new!”

The city has also teamed up with local broadcaster Adam Montiel again to highlight participating restaurants. He will walk through special menus and discounts at SLO eateries each week on his podcast Up + Adam, the news release said.

“Kudos to the city for celebrating the dedicated restaurant owners and teams behind the scenes,” Montiel said in the release. “I’m looking forward to exploring these exciting menus and showcasing the amazing flavors that make SLO’s food scene truly one of a kind.”

Even though January is typically a slow month for local eateries, the city said SLO restaurants saw a “4% year-over-year increase in restaurant sales tax revenue” while last year’s Restaurant Month was underway.
