Another aftershock shakes spot of November quake in SLO County

The Templeton spot that’s been the epicenter for a swarm of earthquakes over the last month got another one on Christmas Day.

The 2.9-magnitude quake was the latest aftershock to strike near the location of a 4.1-magnitude quake in Templeton on Nov. 18.

The quake, once again near Jack Creek Farms north of Highway 46 West, was recorded at 3:41 p.m. at a dept of 3.5 miles, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake was not widely felt, with reports only as far away as Atascadero and Lake Nacimiento, according to the USGS.

More than 75 aftershocks have been recorded in the area in the wake of the Nov. 18 temblor.
