Hwy. 41 lane closure to delay traffic in SLO County. Here’s what to know

Drivers on Highway 41 could face traffic delays in San Luis Obispo County due to a scheduled lane closure, according to Caltrans.

The California Department of Transportation is shutting down a single highway lane to inspect and test road conditions ahead of a future project, the agency said in a Dec. 5 news release.

Drivers could be delayed by up to 15 minutes while the lane is closed down, Caltrans said.

Here’s what to know:

Where will Highway 41 lane be closed?

Caltrans crews will shut down a single lane and conduct traffic control on a one-mile section of Highway 41, the release said.

The one-lane closure will occur on a second of the freeway between 2.7 miles and 3.7 miles east of Morro Bay, the state road agency said.

When will SLO County highway lane shut down?

The daytime traffic control and lane closure will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 10, according to Caltrans.

“Travelers in both directions of Hwy. 41 can expect delays of 10 to 15 minutes,” the release said.

Caltrans advised drivers to go slowly and carefully through work zones to keep workers safe.

“Our crews deserve to get home safely too,” Caltrans said.
