New respiratory diagnostic testing clinic opens in SLO

San Luis Obispo County residents have access to a new diagnostic clinic for respiratory health care.

The new Adventist Health Diagnostic Testing clinic in San Luis Obispo specializes in providing advanced pulmonary function tests that help diagnose and manage a wide spectrum of respiratory disorders, the health care company said in a news release.

Tests offered at the new clinic include:

• Spirometry (pre- and post-bronchodilator)
• Bronchodilator responsiveness testing
• Simple pulmonary stress test (6-minute walk test)
• Lung volume measurement
• Gas dilution or washout techniques
• Body plethysmography
• Lung diff­usion capacity testing (DLCO)
• Cardiopulmonary exercise testing

The clinic is now open and accepting referrals at its new home in San Luis Obispo at 35 Casa St., Suite 360, near Adventist Health Sierra Vista hospital.
