A trapped semi-truck caused a traffic jam near the Cholame “Y” interchange Friday afternoon.

The big rig was stuck on the eastbound shoulder of the road, according to a post on X from Caltrans.

The agency said traffic would be stopped on Highway 46 in both directions to make room for the truck to be towed out.

The Caltrans QuickMap showed that traffic throughout the Cholame “Y” area was stopped or slowed, as of 3:46 p.m. Cars could be seen starting to pile up in the distance on the Caltrans traffic cameras.
