1 seriously injured in SLO County motorcycle crash
A head-on crash between a vehicle and at least one motorcycle near Whale Rock Reservoir in Cayucos left one person critically injured.
According to the California Highway Patrol incident log, the crash occurred on Old Creek Road near the Whale Rock Reservoir at 3:25 p.m. An ambulance was called to the scene shortly thereafter.
The crash was reported as a head-on collision between one vehicle and at least one motorcycle or potentially a sports bike. The CHP log said at one point there may have been two motorcycles involved.
Initial emergency scanner traffic reported serious injuries at the scene. CHP’s incident log reported that there was no cell phone service at the scene of the crash.
Tow trucks were requested for both the motorcycle with “major damage” and a Toyota sedan, the incident log said.
Traffic hazards were reported in both lanes, according to the incident log.
