An 86-year-old San Luis Obispo man who went missing after leaving for a walk Monday evening was found dead the next day, the Sheriff’s Office said.
James Quinn was last seen going for a walk around 6:30 p.m. Monday in the 200 block of Charles Drive in the San Luis Obispo Country Club area but never returned home, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release on Monday.
On Tuesday, the sheriff’s search and rescue team found Quinn unresponsive in a nearby field.
Quinn was given medical attention but was pronounced dead shortly after, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Quinn went on walks on a regular basis, the agency said. A family member had reported him missing Monday evening, when a sizable storm swept San Luis Obispo County with more than 1.5 inches of rain in San Luis Obispo.
