Crash and car fire block traffic on Highway 101 in SLO County
A three-vehicle crash that led to a car fire blocked traffic on Highway 101 in Nipomo on Saturday.
At 11:05 a.m., Cal Fire was dispatched to a car fire off of Highway 101 near the Santa Maria Speedway, according to the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Page.
A car was fully engulfed in flames following a three-vehicle crash off northbound Highway 101.
According to Cal Fire Spokesperson Eva Grady, no injuries were reported at the scene and units were awaiting tow trucks for cleanup.
As of noon, traffic was nearly bumper to bumper headed north on Highway 101 between Santa Maria and Nipomo, according to Caltrans traffic cameras in the area.
It is unclear when traffic will clear up in the area.
