Heads up, drivers: Crash on Cuesta Grade slows Hwy. 101 traffic

A car crash at the bottom of the Cuesta Grade brought traffic to a halt on Highway 101 on Thursday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol’s Traffic Incident Information Page, at around 10:26 a.m., a semi-truck and a blue sedan were involved in a crash on the southbound side of Highway 101 near Stagecoach Road.

The Nos. 2 and 3 lanes were blocked by the crash, limiting traffic to just one lane going south on Highway 101.

A tow truck was dispatched to the scene of the crash around 10:31 a.m. By noon, the road had been cleared and traffic was once again moving normally.

It’s unclear if anyone was injured, but the occupants were reportedly out of their vehicles, according to emergency radio traffic.
