All of Central California, including San Luis Obispo County, experienced issues with the state’s 911 call system Monday.

In a news release Monday evening, the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office said the state 911 system was “reporting a problem with its network.”

The county’s incoming 911 calls were still being delivered to dispatch, but the phone number and location of the caller was not being automatically generated, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The Sheriff’s Office advised incoming 911 callers to state their phone number and location until the issue has been fixed.

If callers experience issues reaching the 911 dispatch, the Sheriff’s Office also advised people to call its non-emergency number at 805-781-4550, option 3, the release said.

The issue affected surrounding areas in Central California, including Kern and Fresno counties.

Shortly after 8 p.m. Monday, the sheriff sent out a news release saying the issue had been resolved and 911 service was again functioning normally.
