SLO County man involved in Hwy. 46 crash died by suicide, Paso Robles police say

A Templeton man was found dead by a self-inflicted gunshot wound after his vehicle crashed in Paso Robles on Tuesday morning.
Paso Robles police officers responded just before 6 a.m. to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 46 East, east of Highway 101, the Paso Robles Police Department said in a news release.
When officers arrived on scene, they found the 75-year-old Templeton resident deceased inside a black pickup truck, the news release said.
Paso Robles police Sgt. Steve Boyett told The Tribune the man appeared to have shot himself while driving, causing him to crash. He died from the self-inflicted gunshot wound, Boyett said. Drugs and alcohol were not suspected to be a factor.
No other injuries were reported.
