Vegetation fire burns 38 acres in northern San Luis Obispo County

A vegetation fire broke out in northern San Luis Obispo County on Friday afternoon.

Located north of Lake Nacimiento, the Eagle Fire was reported before 12:30 p.m, according to PulsePoint.

As of 2:18 p.m., the fire had burned 38 acres and was at 50% containment, according to emergency scanner traffic. Forward progress had been stopped.

Cal Fire shared updates from the fire on X on Friday afternoon, including a photo of the fire and a video of crews dropping retardant on the flames.

By 1:19 p.m., the fire had spread to 35 acres and was at 30% containment, according to emergency response app Watch Duty.

The fire originally threatened one structure, but that threat had been mitigated by 1:19 p.m., the app said.
