A vegetation fire that broke out along Highway 58 near California Valley on Monday afternoon burned 15 acres.
The fire was reported on the north side of the highway just west of Soda Lake Road shortly after 12:30 p.m., according to the emergency response app Watch Duty.
By 12:38 p.m., the fire was at one acre and spreading at a moderate speed with a potential for five acres, the app said. No structures were threatened at that time.
At 1:36 p.m., it was reported that forward progress had in fact stopped at 15 acres, according to the app. Air attack on the fire was released at that time.
