3 new concerts announced at Vina Robles. See who’s coming to SLO County
Three more musical acts have announced upcoming concerts at the Vina Robles Amphitheatre in Paso Robles, adding to the growing list of performers coming to the San Luis Obispo County concert venue this summer.
Singer and actor Chris Isaak will open Vina Robles’ concert season in May, soft rock duo Air Supply will play in July and yacht rock band the Yachtley Crew will take the stage in late August, the venue said in a news release.
Isaak, a platinum-selling and Grammy-nominated artist, will return to the Vina Robles stage on Friday, May 23, at 8 p.m. with special guest Nicole Atkins, according to the release.
Isaak has produced 13 critically acclaimed studio albums and 12 chart-topping singles and has appeared in several movies such as “The Silence of the Lambs “and “That Thing You Do!”
In addition to his musical accolades, Isaak’s work has taken him behind the scenes to create music for multiple movie soundtracks, including two David Lynch films, “Wild at Heart” and “Blue Velvet.”
Tickets for his Vina Robles concert are available via Ticketmaster, with general admission lawn tickets starting at $25.
How to see Yachtley Crew at Vina Robles
The “nation’s No. 1 Yacht Rock band,” Yachtley Crew, is set to return to Vina Robles on Saturday, Aug. 30, at 8 p.m.
Yacht rock is a genre of soft rock popularized in the 1970s and ‘80s reviving soul, jazz and rock sing-along chart-toppers from the time.
The seven-piece, nautical-themed soft rock group includes lead vocalist Phillip Daniel as Philly Ocean, drummer Rob Jones as Sailor Hawkins, bassist Chaz Ruiz as Baba Buoy, guitarist Thomas Gardner Jr. as Tommy Buoy, backing vocalist Curt Clendenin as Stoney Shores, saxophone/flutist Paul Pate as Pauly Shores and keyboardist Matt Grossman as Matthew McDonald.
Some of the band’s fan-favorite songs include its renditions of the Bee Gees’ “How Deep Is Your Love” Looking Glass’ “Brandy” and Rupert Holmes’ “Escape (The Piña Colada Song).”
Tickets to see Yachetly Crew are available via Ticketmaster, with general admission lawn tickets starting at $25.
Air Supply to play in Paso Robles
Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock of the Australian soft rock duo Air Supply will celebrate their 50th anniversary with a performance at Vina Robles on Saturday, July 12, at 8 p.m.
The pair, hailing from Australia and England each, are known for their romantic ‘80s rock ballads such as “Making Love Out of Nothing at All,” and “Two Less Lonely People in the World.”
Tickets will go on sale on Ticketmaster starting Friday at 10 a.m.
