More than 1,400 lose power in rural SLO County

A power outage cut electricity for more than 1,400 PG&E customers in northeastern San Luis Obispo County and southern Monterey County for several hours Tuesday morning.

The outage affected customers in rural areas east of Paso Robles.

According to the PG&E outage center, 1,411 customers lost power around 6:30 a.m. The outage area stretched across both sides of Highway 46 East from Estrella Road to the Highway 41 interchange near Shandon, the PG&E outage map showed. Areas of both sides of Highway 46 and 41 were affected, the map showed.

The same power outage also affected southern Monterey County in a rural area south of Coalinga, the map showed.

Power had been restored by around 10 a.m.

The cause for the outage was unknown at this time.
